Engine air inlet manifold is an important part for the engine system of fuel automotive. To ensure the normal driving of automotive, the hig
h strength and air-tightness of engine air inlet manifold must be ensured. The welding of air inlet manifold is normally by then method of linear vibration friction to ensure the welding result with the force by hydraulic system.
I. Material of Engine air inlet manifold: PA66+GF (normally GF35%).
II. Requirement: A. High strength after welding- should be anti-oscillation and long-period duration; B. air-tightness of welding;
III. Challenge:
A. complex geometric shape design – big bevel & arc and complex welding area location
B. Hard material with high melting temperature – PA66 adding glass fiber aiming to enhance its hardness, and its melting temperature will be 275~280℃; C. Deformation of parts – deformation to the parts by injection molding requests rectification before carry out melting and welding to ensure parts assembly matching, but the hardness and complex geometric design make it more difficulty in rectification.
IV. Welding Machine Recommended:
Linear vibration welder: A. MSV-730LS – 70KG,280Hz; B. MSV-SF730 – 70KG, 365Hz
Welding force: by servo hydraulic system.
V. Attention to welding tooling design:
A. High strength of fixture material fit for the hard material;
B. The support under welding area fit for the complex geometric design;
C. Easy loading & unloading of part;
D. Anti-sliding, avoiding loose of parts positioning.
